Resident Peer Supervision of Psychotherapy

This paper describes a program at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for the supervision of second-year residents by a group of peers. Under this system, each participant was able to bring troublesome cases to the attention of the group and to work through many of the difficulties that might not have been examined in traditional individual supervision. The authors describe five stages in the development of the group and offer observations that would be helpful to such groups elsewhere.
